Get Whiter Teeth The Natural Way

Is it possible to bring back the lustre of your pearly whites the natural way, without bleaching or getting laser treatments? The answer is a resounding yes. You might think the only way to get whiter teeth is to splurge on cosmetic dentistry procedures.

Without the right budget, getting an in-clinic treatment might just be close to impossible. But wait, don’t give up just yet! If you are one who suffers from unsightly stained teeth and needs to get whiter teeth in a jiffy, here are some natural methods you might want to try:

1. Strawberries and Baking Soda. This is an inexpensive treatment because you will only need 1 medium-sized ripe strawberry and a half teaspoon of baking soda. Crush the strawberry into a pulp and mix with the baking soda.

Use it as you would use regular toothpaste. The natural grains of the fruit will buff away teeth staining particles while the soda will act as your bleaching agent. Repeat this procedure several times a week.

2. Baking Soda and Water. In a bowl, combine one tablespoon of natural baking soda and 2 tablespoons of water. Mix until you get a pasty consistency. Dip your toothbrush into the mixture and brush your teeth for 2-3 minutes. Repeat this procedure several times a week.

3. Brush your teeth after every meal. This is the most basic form of dental care taught to us since we were big enough to hold a toothbrush! Brushing will scrub away all the food particles and wash off teeth staining pigments. To get whiter teeth, you will have to go back to the basics.

4. Floss your teeth once a day. The floss can take care of the hard to reach spaces, in between your teeth. These gaps can be convenient places for food particles and stain to settle in. Without flossing, they will remain intact and eventually become plaque.

5. Replace your toothbrush ever y 3 months. Worn-out toothbrushes do not perform as they should – always make sure that the bristles remain tough enough to remove food particles. If the bristles become too soft, the effectiveness of brushing your teeth is reduce by 40%.

6. Keep away from teeth staining food and beverages as much as you can. Red wine, tea, coffee, cola and other dark coloured beverages contain potent doses of natural colour pigments that discolour teeth. Strawberries and blueberries can also stain the teeth.

If you want to get whiter teeth, avoid these types of food and beverages. The general rule is: if it stains your carpet, it stains your teeth!
